Empty Nesters
Rick Forschner is moderating a class based on Pastor Tim Keller's book "Counterfeit Gods." The class meets at 9:15 in room 102. The group looks at the things in our lives that can become idols. Certain items are obvious, e.g. money, job, hobbies and interests; but there are also some subtle issues that can take preeminence in our hearts, if we're not careful to put God first.
Each class begins with the story of a man or woman in the 21st century that is dealing with a 'counterfeit god.' Then we go to the Bible and look at an account of someone else that had that problem and how God worked in their life to put things in the correct perspective.
