Community Bible Church

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS OF OUR SENIOR PASTOR'S OFFICE

Q: Would CBC be considered liberal or conservative in its theology?
A: Conservative. However, CBC seeks not to be legalistic and to approach issues with the biblical balance of both uncompromised standards and God's grace.

Q: What is the polity of CBC?
A: CBC is an elder-led church. The elders are elected each year by the congregation. The elders then have the responsibility to provide spiritual leadership and oversight as delegated to them by the congregation.

Q: If I join Community Bible Church, do I need to be re-baptized?
A: CBC accepts all biblical baptisms. A biblical baptism has three components:
1. a baptism that took place following the individual's conversion,
2. a baptism symbolizing the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ,
3. a baptism by water immersion.

Q: How do I join Community Bible?

A: You may make an appointment to visit with a CBC staff member or stop by the Office located off the main foyer following any of our worship services.

Q: What is involved in a commitment to church membership at CBC?
A: Church membership is a covenant relationship between the church and an individual. The church understands that it will seek to help the individual to become a fully-developing follower of Christ. The individual understands the church's purpose and is willing to make four commitments:
1. To become involved in a Bible Fellowship, CBC's small group ministry.
2. To financially support the church in a God-honoring manner.
3. To find a place of service in the church's fellowship, using one's talents, gifts and abilities.
4. To seek to witness to and invite others to church.
